Today, I closed my business…

In March of 2020, when the world had no use for a blowout, because we went absolutely nowhere, I regretted everything.  Why did I leave my job in entertainment and invest in a business that was THIS HARD while making NO MONEY?  I could’ve been on the corporate ladder for the last few years instead of wasting my life away…

So, I jumped into a plan B to launch a boutique agency.  Pivoting on decisions and directions of a company is one things, but putting a full time effort in front of something brand new while my new brick and mortar where failing was another.  Looking back, I appreciate my confidence, but wish i had known the stress I would cause myself & the energy it would take to passionately do both.

Meet Miss Pink Media, named after my best friend & goldendoodle, Miss Pink Willoughby.  The LLC launched as Book Miss Pink where I was booking and coordinating mobile hair and makeup, while hiring Drybar as our exclusive hair partner.  While there weren’t as many in person events, when people did go out, they wanted to limit the amount of people they were around, so having artist at their home limited potential Covid exposure.

I had kept my mind open to finding more entertainment opportunities.  Prayers were answered and I was given one that aligned with my background in branded entertainment and high quality production content.  Through an old friend at Reese Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine, I had the incredible opportunity to produce a branded series with Hello Sunshine & Biossance in Nashville.  How cool is that?  I believed that it was THE sign & revenue I needed to hire support and GO FOR IT.

During pre-production, I found the MOST incredible person, Julie Sullivan to be MPM’s Director of Creative.  She’s so creative, organized and KIND.  Once she came on-board, the scheduled talent for the Biossance Project dropped out and the gig died… POOF.

We were forced to pivot, and had recently been inspired by Jessica Zweig’s agency, Simply Be (they were just acquired!) , which sent us down the path of working with talent that needed help and support with their personal branding.  We booked podcast tours, did social media strategy, locked partnership & PR opportunities for a handful of clients.

Soon, I was approached by a female executive from my past and offered a 9 month opportunity that aligned with our values & gave us an opportunity to shape the world for good!  Working with this Non-Profit would give us steady revenue while working on the rest of our roster.  The majority of projects on our plate would take 12+ more months to develop, sell, and deliver, so it seemed like a great idea.  But all of this AND two Drybar locations? It became too much.

Through a lot of soul searching and tears, I decided to part ways with Julie and focus on Drybar.  Prayers were answered and Julie found an amazing job opportunity with people we trust, so this is your reminder that it WILL workout for you.

While this was almost 1 year ago, I’ve been coordinating the occasional makeup for some additional revenue.  My word for 2024 is KISS (Keep It Simply Simple), so I’m finally closing my LLC and streamlining my way-too-many-inboxes.
